Seeding Three Mile Harbor

September 12th was a perfect sunny day for the students of the East Hampton Middle School’s Surfrider Club for the annual seeding of Three Mile Harbor! The students seeded over 100,000 clams and oysters with their teacher and East Hampton Town Trustee, David Cataletto, and The East Hampton Shellfish Hatchery’s director, John “Barley” Dunne.

Their wonderful environmental effort will help keep our waters healthy with the promise of clams and oysters for later harvest as they grow!

Later that afternoon, the students invited the Coast Guard to join them for their Surfrider Beach clean-up who all quickly came aboard to participate as it was “Amagansett Maritime Heritage Day”!
