Stay Safe: Beware of Riptides!
As summer heats up, many of us will head to the beach for some fun in the sun. But remember, the ocean can be unpredictable and riptides are a serious danger. Here’s what you need to know:
What is a Riptide? A strong, narrow current that moves away from the shore. It can quickly pull swimmers out to deeper waters.
Safety Tips:
– Stay calm. Don’t fight the current.
– Swim parallel to the shore until you’re out of the current, then swim back to land.
– Always swim at beaches with lifeguards and obey warning signs.
