Duck Blinds

All existing duck blind hunters need to renew by October 16, 2025!

We have begun processing the 2025-26 Season Duck Blinds. If you are a 2024-25 Duck Blind owner and want to renew your permit you can come by the Trustee office with your required documents or email us at Trustees@ehamptonny.gov and we will send you the renewal paperwork via email or mail.

WAIT LIST

If you would like to be on the Trustees Wait List for a duck blind please email us at Trustees@ehamptonny.gov and we will add you to our wait list. Send us your Name, local address, mailing address, email and cell phone number and the harbors you are interested in. List the harbors in order of first choice, second choice, ect. Choices are Accabonac, Napeague, Northwest Creek and Three Mile Harbor.

RULES

One permit, per person, per body of water will be issued each season. No more then two permits per household in Trustee waters. For Blinds in Montauk, which is not a Trustee Holding, you can apply through the Town of East Hampton NY website if you are interested in a duck blind in Montauk. That application will go live on October 1, 2025 for renewals and October 15, 2025 for new applications

A Trustee Duck Blind Permit Application must be submitted every year with the following information:

  1. An updated copy of the applicant’s driver’s license.
  2. Proof of residency if local street address is not on driver’s license. P. O. Box not accepted as proof of residency.
  3. A photocopy of the applicant’s New York State Hunting License.
  4. A photocopy of the applicants Duck Stamp
  5. The Blinds GPS location. Decimal format if possible.

Additional requirements for both staked and floating blinds are:

  1. All duck blinds must be installed by the first day of puddle duck season, remain in their permitted location and removed by March 1st in any year. If a blind is not installed or removed by the dates described, the permit holder may forfeit their right to renew the following season.
  2. All duck blinds must display their Trustee Permit.
  3. All duck blinds must be located no less than 500′ apart.
  4. There shall be no dwelling, house, public structure, livestock or person within 500′ of the prospective line of discharge.
  5. Any person charged with a serious violation of any Town, County, State, or Federal law will automatically have their permit revoked.
