On Sunday, March 30th, the Trustees will once again don their “Irish Green” to participate in the annual Montauk Friends of Erin Parade. The parade begins at 12:00 noon on Edgemere Road.
The Trustees will be joined by the East Hampton Middle School’s Surfrider Club and new community service club called “Do Good Be Good” created by the history and English teacher and Trustee, David Cataletto.
This year’s Grand Marshal will be Joe Bloecker who has a distinguished community bond with many organizations that have well served Montauk and the East End through the decades.

Joe’s involvement with the Club and his contributions to the Montauk community run deep. In addition to being a member of the Montauk Friends of Erin for over 30-years, including 10 years as a former President, Joe has served the community in nearly every way possible – from his multiple terms an as elected East Hampton Town Trustee, as Vice President of the East Hampton Town Republican party, as a Co-Chair of the East Hampton Town Cancer Task Force, and as a Founding member of the Town Nature Preserve Committee.
In addition, Joe has coached generations of Montauk’s youth in the 37- years he has volunteered his time to serve as a Little League Coach. As Joe’s dedication to the Montauk Friends of Erin, and to giving back to the Montauk Community are unmatched, his time to be selected as Grand Marshal is well deserved, and has been a long time in the making. The Friends of Erin are thrilled he has accepted this nomination, and we look forward to celebrating with everyone this Parade Season.
Beginning the celebrations will be The Grand Marshal Luncheon, Friday, March 28, 2025, at 12:00 at Montauk Downs, followed by the Famous Cocktail Gala, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 4:00pm at Gurneys Resort, and of course, the 63rd Marching of the Montauk St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 12pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
