South Fork Wind Update

Cable pull-in activities are anticipated to begin Tuesday, March 7 and continue through Friday, March 10. Please note that once started this work must be continuous until completion and will be performed pursuant to Article VII Certificate Condition 75.

PHOTO: The large green vessel which is positioned behind the lift boat is the Livingstone, which is the cable-laying vessel. The lift boat in the foreground is the RAM XV, which facilitates the preparation works for the cable installation.  This week’s work for offshore will consist of prepping for and beginning the cable pull. 

Completed Activities
Week of February 27, 2023:

Beach Lane

  • The contractor prepared for the offshore cable pull in.
  • The contractor conducted splicing activities at MH2.

Wainscott Stone Road | Sayres Path | Wainscott Main Street

  • The contractor conducted cable splicing activities at MH3.
  • The contractor continued to mill and pave the road.

Wainscott Northwest Road

  • The contractor conducted splicing activities at MH4.

Long Island Railroad Corridor

  • The contractor removed snow fencing.

New Interconnection Station off Cove Hollow Road

  • The contractor continued below grade and above grade construction.

Upcoming Activities
Week of March 6, 2023:

Beach Lane
• The contractor intends to pull the cable from offshore.
• The contractor intends to continue splicing activities at MH 2.

Long Island Railroad Corridor
• The contractor intends grade the access road.
• The contractor intends to begin restoration activities.

New Interconnection Station off Cove Hollow Road
• The contractor intends to continue with below and above grade construction.

Week of March 13, 2023:

Beach Lane (offshore)
• The contractor intends to pull cable offshore.

Beach Lane
• The contractor intends to remove cable pulling equipment from site.
• The contractor intends to begin testing the cable.

Long Island Railroad Corridor
• The contractor intends grade the access road.
• The contractor intends to continue restoring the area.

New Interconnection Station off Cove Hollow Road
• The contractor intends to continue with below and above grade construction.
